GD were the best at throwing little hints of a song without showing it off, some of my favorites were the Dark Star hints throughout the whole 6/17/91 sets, or the Cosmic Charlie tease of 94, what are your almosts?

You can hear the band heading into Dark Star out of Space in Seattle on the third night in 1995 (Phil clearly wants to break it out). You know, the supposed best/only good show of that year? Well it might have been if they hadn't changed it up and played Easy Answers instead!!!!!!!!!

That's funny. One guy reviewing a '95 gig in albany has a funny story about some hippy cursing out Weir when he stared easy answers out of space at that gig. That's a major buzz kill. Kinda like Eternity in the second set in memphis. Just when you think you escaped getting those tunes, they sock you in the end.

sorry for a second post but I forgot.... Wembley England fall 1990. They are half way through the intro for Standing on the Moon and Garcia pulls the rip cord and switches to Wharf rat. This is blatant and no one can dispute this one.

How about 10-08-83?

They had just done Wharfrat and I turned to my friends and said, "here comes Sugar Magnolia. ALWAYS after Wharfrat! I wish they'd play something else."

Then sure enough they go into Sugar Magnolia. Played several bars of it then....WHAM! they go into Good Lovin. Never sang the first word in SM.

It was very most great.

Kristine R. (a girl I knew in High School)

Try one of the MSG shows in sept 90. They open the second set with playing in the Band and it appears they are going to jam into Comes A Time. That suddenly switches into Ship of Fools. Since Ship is usually a "stand alone" song it seemed very strange for a segue. I think Comes A Time was definitely there, but others may disagree.

There are tons of examples of one guy tuning a song and another guy cutting them off and playing something else but we'd be here all day.
